also homestuck is extremely confusing so i'm only explaining the bits relevant to her personality and backstory otherwise this page would be like a mile long

At the start of the comic, Jade Harley is a 13 year old girl who lives with her dog/guardian in a plant filled house on an island to the north of Australia. Her grandfather, who previously cared for her, is taxidermied in the hall after being shot in an accident. Her companion prototype is her dog, Becquerel, who was more intelligent than an average dog before Sburb, and raised Jade after the death of her grandfather.

Her Pesterchum handle is gardenGnostic, and she is narcoleptic, often falling asleep at inopportune moments, such as when she is being introduced.
